EAMONN DOWD & THE RACKETEERS
HUGH DEAN BAND
Eamonn Dowd paid his dues playing with long forgotten bands throughout the 1980’s and early 90’s in his native Ireland.
In 1996 he formed The Racketeers and embarked on a never ending adventure bringing his fiery brand of country / americana / rock ‘n’ roll to audiences far and wide, releasing ten albums along the way. In recent years Dowd has toured (with The Racketeers & solo) throughout Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Finland, Estonia, Austria, Switzerland, Czech, east coast USA and Canada.
The new album “Dig Into Nowhere” (2017) is released through Disques Fridge/Spellbound with German distribution through Pool Musik. It marks a high light in Dowd’s career. It includes his collaboration with Horslips drummer/lyricist, Eamon Carr, “The Greenwood Shade”. Nashville legend, Gary Carter plays pedal steel on the album. Gary, a veteran of the Grand Ole Opry has played with countless country stars including Faith Hill, Marty Stuart, Randy Travis and Glen Campbell.
