Men Of Twenty

Originally from Limerick, Men of Twenty are Johnny on vocals & rhythm guitar, Daniel on lead guitar & backing vocals and Conor on drums, piano/keyboards & backing vocals.

The versatility of the band shows a unique method of songwriting. Conor McCarthy, the drummer, is also an accomplished pianist, encompassing his classical style of piano playing into the writing, as well as tightly rehearsed, alternative drumming. All the while, John McDonnell lays down the foundation of their tracks with his simple, rhythmic guitar playing, relatable lyrics and a voice that carries both tender and edgy tendencies that can only come from a truly emotional performance. In addition, Daniel Clarke completes the writing trio with his own style of lead guitar playing, using effects to create both and ambient yet gritty sound, true to his indie and rock influences.

Men of Twenty have been featured in Hot Press and were included in the ‘Top 50 Irish bands you have to hear’ list last year. In 2014 they were also a top pick for Guinness Amplify, playing ten dates throughout Ireland.

The band has supported many artists throughout Ireland such as Royseven, Hermitage Green, The Minutes, The Kanyu Tree, Heathers, Fred and The Sawdoctors.
