“An intimate and deeply human story that traverses the emotional milestones redefining the bonds within a family and the balance of a couple’s life.” This is how Una Storia is described, the film marking Anna Foglietta’s directorial debut. Written by the new director herself, together with Tania Pedroni and Matteo Ferri, Una Storia will be shown in an advance screening at the upcoming Venice Film Festival, in competition in the Horizons section, before arriving in theaters on September 24 through BIM Distribuzione.
The film’s leads are Alba Rohrwacher and Guido Caprino, supported in the cast by Caterina Casini, Elio De Capitani and Duccio Camerini.

Una Storia: The Official Plot of the Film Directed by Anna Foglietta
Erika and Mauro live in the countryside, immersed in a simple daily life made of reassuring routines and small gestures. When their daughter Irene leaves to study far away, the house empties and the equilibrium on which the couple built their existence seems to crack. Erika, who has always inhabited the world through caring for others, suddenly finds herself without direction. Mauro, raised in the emotional rigidity of an authoritarian father, tries in his own way to react by filling the void, but ends up confronting a fragility he has never confessed. In the suspended time that follows, old wounds resurface and forgotten desires re-emerge. It will be this intimate and profound crisis that pushes them to truly look at each other and to understand if and how they can transform themselves and, consequently, their love.
