The Unmissable TV Series with Ester Expósito after Marfil – The Opposites
Elite
In fact, before acting in Elite and gaining international fame, Ester Expósito had taken her first steps in cinema with Your Son and When Angels Sleep. On television, however, thanks to Netflix, she quickly captured the audience’s attention by portraying Carla Roson, the main character in the first season who helped drive the plot. Clever as well as manipulative, Carla is willing to do anything to obtain what she desires. If in the first season she is contested between Polo and Christian, in the second season she falls in love with Samuel. Although she remains one of the most beloved characters, from the fourth season Elite moved on without Ester Expósito. The Spanish teen drama to date comprises eight seasons released on Netflix.
Qualcuno deve morire
A 2020 miniseries conceived by Manolo Caro and distributed on Netflix, Someone Must Die is set in the 1950s in Spain and unfolds over a mere three episodes, portraying a traditional, conservative society under the Franco regime. In this instance, Ester Expósito plays Cayetana Aldama, the fiancée-to-be of the protagonist Gabino Falcón, who returns home from Mexico with a surprise: a close friend, a dancer named Lazaro, of whom he is secretly in love. His family, however, has struck a pact with the powerful Aldama family, including an arranged marriage between Gabino and Cayetana.
Bandidos
Tied closely to Netflix’s reality-driven approach, Ester Expósito has also starred in Bandidos, a heist-flavored TV series about a band of improvised con artists who decide to reclaim an impossible treasure, fully aware of the dangers ahead. In this story the actress plays Lilli, a member of the gang, an irresistibly charismatic con artist who plays a crucial part in the mission’s success. Miguel and Lilli assemble a crew to try to recover the treasure from a submerged tomb belonging to a Spanish galleon sunk in the Gulf of Mexico during the War of Independence, but they are not the only ones interested in the prize. The series consists of two seasons.
