After captivating audiences with the stories and emotions of This Is Us, Dan Fogelman returns with a new series where family ties intertwine with ambitions, rivalries, and sports challenges. Disney+ has released the trailer for The Land, a drama set in the world of American football that centers on two families and the future of the Cleveland Browns, with tensions both on and off the field. The series will premiere on February 15, 2026 on Disney+ in Italy and internationally, with the first two episodes available from launch day. Subsequently, a new episode will arrive every Monday.
The Land: the plot of Dan Fogelman’s series
At the heart of the story is Danny Roarke, the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, played by Christopher Meloni. After several disappointing seasons, Danny has one last chance to lift the team’s fortunes and prove that he is still the right person to lead them. His fate, however, hinges on a very special player: Connor, the quarterback from Ohio State freshly selected in the Draft, who is also his son. Played by Sam Corlett, the young Connor represents a tremendous opportunity for the franchise, but the relationship with his father is far from simple. Danny recognizes his talent, yet he isn’t convinced he has what it takes to become the quarterback the team needs. A lack of trust that threatens to turn athletic pressure into a personal conflict, testing the bond between them exactly when the team needs them most.
Meanwhile, the series follows the story of Hal Durkin, owner of the Cleveland Browns, portrayed by William H. Macy. He too must face a decisive choice for the franchise’s future: determine which of his two daughters is best suited to inherit the reins and lead the team into a new era. A decision that will challenge family dynamics and fuel the rivalry between the two sisters. As the trailer suggests, in The Land the competition goes beyond the football field. The tensions spill over into the company offices, where personal ambitions clash with professional responsibilities. At the same time, a weary fan base tired of losses demands a winning season, leaving the team with little room to make mistakes.
