Following the immense success of Wherever You Are, Netflix’s miniseries adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name—the eighth most-watched show of all time on the streaming service—Sam Worthington is set for a new television venture. The Australian actor and Sofia Carson (My Year at Oxford) will star in and executive-produce The Parsifal Mosaic, a new spy drama in development at Hulu.
The Parsifal Mosaic: The Plot of the TV Series
Created by the Colony showrunner Wes Tooke, based on Robert Ludlum’s The Parsifal Mosaic, published in 1982, The Parsifal Mosaic follows Worthington in the role of Michael Havelock, a man who, after years of dangerous field operations for the CIA, is ready to retire when he discovers that his partner Jenna Karas (Carson) – secretly the love of his life – has betrayed him. Michael thus begins to uncover a powerful conspiracy that spans the globe.
For years, there have been attempts to bring the Parsifal Mosaic story to the big screen, with the involvement first of director Ron Howard and then of colleague Zhang Yimou, but the project never took off. Now Hulu, Disney+’s sister platform, is giving it a try, for which Worthington had already acted in the 2022 miniseries In the Name of Heaven. On television, the actor is also known for his earlier work in the first season of the crime drama anthology Manhunt, focused on the Unabomber.
