Penn Badgley, who spent five seasons portraying a killer in Netflix’s psychological thriller You, will return to the small screen with Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, a Prime Video crime dramedy based on Benjamin Stevenson’s celebrated novel. The series, officially ordered, comes from David Hemingson, the same writer behind The Holdovers.

Set among the rugged mountains of the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone follows Ern Cunningham (Badgley), an acclaimed crime novelist who reluctantly attends a family reunion to welcome his brother Michael, recently released from prison—the same brother whom Ern helped condemn. When a frozen corpse is discovered and a blizzard traps everyone inside the house, the killings begin to escalate. Every member of the family has already killed someone—whether by accident or for other reasons.
A big bestseller, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone is the first in a series of Ernest Cunningham novels, which also includes Everyone on This Train Is Suspects, Everyone Has Secrets at Christmas, and Everyone in This Bank Is a Thief, recently published in Italy.
