The highly anticipated thirteenth season of American Horror Story, simply titled American Horror Story: 13, finally has an Italian release date. Disney+ has revealed that the series created by Ryan Murphy will return to Italy starting on Thursday, October 1, 2026, exclusively on the platform. Comprising 13 episodes, AHS: 13 will premiere with three episodes available at launch, followed by three more in the next week. After that, two episodes will be released every Thursday until the thirteenth and final installment, which will be available in Italy on November 5. To mark the occasion, the official Italian trailer was also released, which you can watch below.
AHS: 13 Is a Nightmare Reunion: The Cast
The thirteenth season of the Ryan Murphy series is already causing a buzz as it prepares to bring back on screen an impressive roster of characters and performers who have appeared in earlier chapters. The result is a truly spine-tingling reunion, with Coven’s witches, the residents of Murder House, Freak Show, Hotel, and Cult ready to share the same nightmare. In the trailer, we primarily see the Coven leads: Sarah Paulson in the role of Cordelia Goode, Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, and Emma Roberts once again as Madison Montgomery. Gabourey Sidibe returns as Queenie and Jamie Brewer as Nan. But the most anticipated return is likely that of Jessica Lange, back in the role of Constance Langdon, the unforgettable lead of Murder House. Lange won’t be the only link to past seasons. Evan Peters returns as Kai Anderson, straight from Cult, but his involvement seems even more peculiar, as the actor will also portray other characters in the saga. If witches weren’t enough, the trailer reintroduces one of the series’ most chilling figures: Twisty the Clown, played by John Carroll Lynch in Freak Show. Alongside Twisty appear Mena Suvari as the Black Dahlia, as well as a host of other familiar faces. In addition to the aforementioned leads, the cast includes Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Avantika, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer and Zach Villa, as well as John Waters.
The Plot Remains Wrapped in Mystery
Although the trailer reveals many details, the plot of American Horror Story 13 remains shrouded in mystery. Among the elements that have emerged so far is a mysterious Manhattan mansion, slated to become a new cursed site in Ryan Murphy’s universe. The Robichaux Academy for Exceptional Girls, Coven’s witches’ school, has also seen its set rebuilt. The number 13 is also certain to play a role in the story. In the trailer, John Waters warns Kai and Winter that the number signifies “instability” and “chaos.” The mastermind behind it all, Ryan Murphy, has explained the nature of this massive crossover, which he himself described as a kind of “Avengers” for American Horror Story. The goal, therefore, is not to tell a brand-new story tied exclusively to the witches, but to reunite characters from various seasons to confront a definitive evil.
The Success of American Horror Story
American Horror Story has become a true international phenomenon since its debut in 2011 and has earned more than 100 Emmy nominations. Over the years, it has surpassed 700 million hours of global streaming and built a remarkably devoted fan community. Created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, who in this season were joined as executive producers by Ned Martel and Charlie Carver, the show has left a lasting mark on the horror landscape on television, turning each season into a new narrative universe: from a house shrouded in terror to a coven of witches, from a roaming freak show to a haunted hotel and an apocalyptic setting. With the thirteenth chapter, the question remains as to which past faces and terrors will return to haunt the ominous halls of 13 and which new threats are waiting to disrupt audiences.
