That Andrew Garfield was a kind person is something we had known for some time, considering also his courtesy during interviews. Today we have further confirmation from the actor about colleagues who, like him, have played Spider-Man on the big screen. Garfield knows them personally, also because he has shared with them some fabulous and funny scenes from Spider-Man: No Way Home, and he appreciates both of them even though the sagas they starred in have been more successful than the two films in which he stepped into the role of Peter Parker, namely The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Power of Electro, released in 2012 and 2014 respectively. During a recent radio interview, Garfield was asked for his opinion on Tobey Maguire, the star of the first Spider-Man trilogy (directed by Sam Raimi), and on Tom Holland, the lead actor of the latest, which so far has reached Spider-Man: Brand New Day. First of all, dear Andrew paid tribute to Tobey Maguire:
Tobey will always be my number one, because when I was in acting school and would allow myself a little drink, I liked to repeat his lines in front of the mirror, so Tobey will always remain my number one.

I’m very proud of the work I did in these three films. I love portraying that character and I think Tom is perfect for his generation. For me it’s incredible. There’s no need to say it, since everyone loves him.
Garfield ha ragione: Tom Holland ha dato una nuova energia a Peter Parker e al suo alter ego Spider-Man, che ha reso persino tenero. Il pubblico lo ama e l’attore ha interpretato il ruolo in ben 7 film, di cui 4 da protagonista. Gli altri 3 sono: Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War e Avengers: Endgame. Per amor di precisione diremo che il Peter Parker di Holland appare anche nella scena dopo i titoli di coda di Venom 2, ma si tratta di immagini di repertorio riutilizzate. Di sicuro Holland sarà in Avengers: Secret Wars, dove potrebbero fare la loro comparsa anche Maguire e lo stesso Garfield.
Prima di cambiare argomento durante l’intervista, Garfield ha fatto la sua classifica di Spider-Man e, con grande signorilità, ha detto:
Diciamo Tobey, Tom e io.
Andrew Garfield è un attore molto versatile che è stato diretto da registi importanti come Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, Robert Redford. Ha lavorato anche con il nostro Luca Guadagnino e con Terry Gilliam, e quindi difficilmente viene identificato con Spider-Man, cosa che gli consente di mantenere un giusto distacco dell’universo dei cinecomic.
