After a preview on January 6, the new animated film Asterix and the Kingdom of Nubia will be in all Italian cinemas from January 13, ready to bring back to the cinema the joy of the heroes created at the end of the 1950s by René Goscinny & : we can present the new long trailer in Italian, after the teaser released in July. We come from an excellent animated series on Netflix such as Asterix & Obelix: The Duel of the Chiefs, for which Asterix has now fairly high standards even in CGI animation. Fingers crossed!
Asterix and the Kingdom of Nubia, the wild quest for a potion to… become adults again!
As is customary in even-numbered years, there will be no new Asterix album in bookstores, with Didier Conrad handling the drawings and FabCaro the screenplay, but on the contrary the comic adaptation of this Asterix and the Kingdom of Nubia should be published. The film by Alexandre Heboyan, who more than ten years ago co-authored the interesting Mune – The Guardian of the Moon, is based on an original screenplay written by Alexandre de La Patellière, Matthieu Delaporte and Thomas Mansu: it is therefore not the adaptation of one of the saga’s comic albums, as indeed Asterix and the Secret of the Magic Potion was in 2018, a film that had the merit of breaking the ice in this sense.
In this new adventure, with the exception of Asterix, Obelix and Panoramix, all the villagers are transformed into boys and girls, facilitating the ever-delayed domination of the Roman legions. It seems that in Nubia, near the Nile, there is the only antidote that can put things back in order, even if Asterix — as we note in the trailer — will voluntarily undergo the process of accelerated rejuvenation. We count the weeks that separate us from a delicate assessment: we are still very pleased with what we admired in Asterix & Obelix: The Duel of the Chiefs on Netflix (which we wholeheartedly recommend to all Asterix fans), so the bar to reach remains for us the same. Regardless of how it goes, embracing the Gauls again is always a celebration, also because we know it: These Romans are crazy.
