This Thursday, October 8, Universal Pictures opens in Italian theaters with a horror film that promises moments of intense terror and, even more, will almost definitively transform the way you view a highly skilled, well-known, and beloved actress like Jessica Chastain. Because in Mammina, the film’s title, the red-haired American actress portrays a double role: the mother of a girl named Bela, and the sinister, evil entity that assumes her appearance to sow panic and upheaval in her family.
The film, based on a novel by Josh Malerman entitled “L’altra mamma” (published in Italy by Giunti), emerges from a collaboration between one of the most influential architects of modern horror, James Wan, the Nathan Elston who wrote for Succession, and director Rob Savage (the man behind The Boogeyman).
In this featurette of the film that we present to you in an exclusive preview, we go behind the scenes of horror to learn more.
In the cast of Mammina, alongside Jessica Chastain are Arabella Olivia Clark (the little Bela), Jay Duplass (the girl’s father), Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed and Karen Allen.
Here is the official Italian final trailer for Mammina.
