Below: Netflix Debut Breaks Record — Here Are This Week’s Most-Watched TV Series

Record-breaking numbers accompany the Netflix debut of Below, the mystery thriller headlined by Josh Hartnett. The miniseries tallied 17 million views in its first four days of availability, marking the platform’s most-watched debut ever for a Canadian title. Below, the tale of a fisherman whose small hometown in Newfoundland is terrorized by a mysterious sea creature, also clinched the No. 1 spot in the Top 10 Netflix TV series viewed from October 5 to 11, 2026, dethroning after just one week the other recent newcomer The Eden Valley, though that title has been enjoying a strong upward trajectory since its launch four days earlier.

The period drama adapted from John Steinbeck’s novel generated another 12.6 million views, a 93% increase after an initially weak showing, which had logged 6.5 million views—the lowest tally for a show since late March. Meanwhile, Disney’s strategy of handing over the rights to the first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians to a rival platform produced about 4.1 million views—the third-best performance among English-language titles—potentially widening the audience for the forthcoming third cycle of exclusive episodes. Among non-English-language series, note the exit from the Top 10 of the Italian Minerva – La Scuola after two weeks on the service, and the top spot held by the South Korean miniseries Doctor X: Mafia in White, the story of a cynical surgeon who, with skill and unparalleled instinct, disrupts a hospital dominated by its hierarchies.
