Below: Success Expands with More Views in Week 2

Netflix can officially celebrate a new success: Below. In its second week of availability, the period from October 12 to 18, 2026, the Canadian mystery thriller starring Josh Hartnett racked up an additional 21.2 million global views, rising by almost 25% compared to the lengthy debut weekend. Among all TV series, it was the platform’s most-watched, and among all content available on the streaming service, it was surpassed only by the Ben Affleck film Animals, which, however, enjoyed greater international promotion. Netflix also notes that Below entered the Top 10 in 92 countries worldwide, reaching the top spot in as many as 80 of them, including Italy.

For the miniseries, the story of a fisherman whose small hometown in Newfoundland is terrorized by a mysterious sea creature, the total view count rises to 38.2 million. For comparison, the recently high-profile miniseries The Eden Valley accumulated 19.1 million views in the same time frame, while Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, the fourth season of the acclaimed anthology series, totaled 26.6 million. Meanwhile, the debut of the fourth season of The Diplomat was weaker but still in line with the previous result, at 4.8 million views. A year ago, the political thriller ranked third among English-language shows, whereas this time it stopped at fifth. Among the foreign-language series, the second week at first place goes to the South Korean miniseries Doctor X: Mafia in White, with 7.1 million views, up 54%.
