Will Harrison Ford return to portray Rick Deckard in Blade Runner 2099? The story proposed in the TV series is actually set roughly 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049 and follows the Replicants who are now running Los Angeles, relegating humans to second-class citizens.
As already reported for some time, the protagonists of this new venture are Olwen interpreted by Michelle Yeoh and Cora interpreted by Hunter Schafer; the latter is a human who pretends to be a Replicant and who collaborates with Olwen to stop a hostile group. In an interview with Polygon, the creator of the upcoming Prime Video series outlined the plan of action and confirmed that no, Harrison Ford will not reprise the role of Rick Deckard in Blade Runner 2099. Being a fan of the franchise, she wanted to curb the audience’s imagination right away: “Harrison Ford is not in the series. As a Blade Runner fan, I’d like to know that, so I’ll be honest from the start.”
