Bosch: Like You’ve Never Seen Him Before in the First Photos of the Prequel TV Series

MGM+ has released the first official photos of Bosch: Start of Watch, the latest spin-off of the successful series Bosch, set in early-1990s Los Angeles, when the character created by writer Michael Connelly was still a recruit. In the role of a young Harry Bosch, the cast features Shameless star Cameron Monaghan, while Power veteran Omari Hardwick plays the seasoned Eli Bridges.

Bosch: Start of Watch, the plot of the new TV series

Bosch: Start of Watch is the third Bosch spin-off, following the concluded Bosch: Legacy and Ballard. Written by franchise veterans Tom Bernardo and Brian Anthony, the series transports us to Los Angeles in 1992, where a twenty-something Harry Bosch begins his early steps as a police officer. In a city on the edge, permeated by racial tensions, gang violence, and a police department deeply divided, between routine interventions and mounting turmoil, Bosch finds himself drawn into a high-profile robbery and a web of criminal corruption that will test his loyalty to the badge and shape his future as a detective who lives by the creed “Everybody counts or nobody counts.”

Beyond Hardwick, whose Eli Bridges is a familiar face at the department, the main cast of Bosch: Start of Watch includes Ariana Guerra (CSI: Vegas) as Rosa, another recruit, and JD Pardo (Mayans M.C.) as Cory, a brilliant and disciplined professional thief who grew up alongside Bosch. The lineup is completed by Kathleen Wilhoite (Gilmore Girls), William Fichtner (Mom), Rafi Gavron (A Star Is Born), Raphael Sbarge (Task), Azita Ghanizada (Suits LA), Kenneth Miller (Presumed Innocent), Seamus Dever (Castle), Ryan McPartlin (Chuck), Marco Rodriguez (Terminal List) and Shelli Boone (All the Queen’s Men).

Bosch: Start of Watch will premiere with the first two episodes on January 10, 2027, also streaming in Italy on MGM+. The schedule will continue every Sunday through February 21, when the eighth and final episode will be available.
