Her account, at times uproariously funny, yet often even credible, of the behind-the-scenes world of cinema, its stars and their agents, captivated the French public on the public channel France 2, and over the years that audience extended to the rest of Europe, if not the world, on Netflix. Dix pour cent, to say it in the original title, or Call My Agent, as it is better known to us, has been a true cult series, especially for fans of the show business world and for industry insiders. This is confirmed by the localized versions in various countries, including the Italian one, branded Sky, which revived the extraordinary appearances of local celebrities such as Accorsi, Favino, Sorrentino, Bellucci or many others.
The original version, consisting of four seasons, is about to reach a – perhaps a fitting – conclusion with a film that should wrap up the adventures of ASK. Call My Agent the Film now has its confirmation; it will be available on the Netflix platform, also in Italy, on September 10, with the return of the beloved cast, from Camille Cottin to Grégory Montel, from Thibault de Montalembert to Laure Calamy, Nicolas Maury, Fanny Sidney, Liliane Rovère, Anne Marivin.
In terms of the stars involved, one of the central features that fueled the show’s success will include George Clooney, as he himself announced some time ago to the daily Le Parisien, even though secrecy still surrounds the matter, along with the announced Vincent Macaigne and Laetitia Casta. The film is directed by Émilie Noblet and written by Fanny Herrero, creator and screenwriter of the series, and produced by Mediawan.
The Plot of Call My Agent the Film
Five years after the agency closed, Andréa is finally ready to direct her first feature film. But when she argues with the producer and the lead actor hands in his resignation, she decides to join forces with Noémie, now a producer of a reality show, believing she can manipulate her easily. However, between recasting the project, on-set disasters and a legal battle over custody of her daughter, everything begins to crumble. One after another, the former ASK colleagues find themselves on a movie set where tensions run high, and everyone has a role, an ego, and a string of old grievances, unaware of what this reunion has in store for them.
