The rising young actress Chase Infiniti has drawn widespread attention for her portrayal of Leonardo DiCaprio‘s daughter in A Battle After Another by Paul Thomas Anderson, and now we know what her next film will be. She will star in the horror film, just acquired by Lionsgate and which we have already discussed (see below), titled Portrait of God, which marks the feature directorial debut of Dylan Clark, who expands for the occasion his eponymous short that went viral on YouTube. To help him bring the film to life, producers Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele even joined the project as producers. Clark is also set to direct next year a reboot of The Blair Witch Project.
Chase Infiniti e il ritratto di Dio
Thus Infiniti will be the devout young woman who is a candidate for the Golden Globes and the Emmys, the religious girl who studies the mysterious painting that many see as white, while others see it as the portrait of God, to the point of feeling herself watched by the apparition. Of course we do not yet know how the story will unfold in the feature, given that the short (uploaded to YouTube three years ago with more than 8.6 million views) lasts only seven and a half minutes. To expand the story, Clark has joined forces with screenwriter Joe Russo. Adam Fogelson, of Lionsgate, stated about the project: “We are thrilled to deepen our creative collaboration with Dylan Clark, whose remarkable talent and original perspective make him one of the most exciting emerging voices in horror. With Sam and Jordan, two of the most influential producers in the genre, the extraordinary Chase Infiniti as the lead and Dylan at the helm, this is an exceptional creative team. We believe they have all the ingredients for an impressive, thought-provoking and terrifying film.” For now, that is the short film.
