Art, mysteries, author forgeries, and a murder that seems to speak directly to the protagonist. The official trailer for ChiaroScuro, the new Netflix series that blends crime with comedy, gives us a clearer idea of what we will see in this fresh story that invites the audience into the captivating, secret-filled world of art. The leads are Pierpaolo Spollon (Doc – Nelle tue mani) and Andrea Lattanzi (Summertime), playing a decidedly unusual investigative duo who must set aside their differences to solve cases where distinguishing truth from falsehood becomes essential. The series, consisting of 8 episodes, is produced by Lux Vide, a company of the Fremantle Group, and will premiere in absolute first at the Festa del Cinema di Roma, outside the competition in the Freestyle section. The Netflix streaming date is set for November 11, 2026.
ChiaroScuro, la trama: When Even a Crime Scene Can Be Forged
The protagonist is Cosmo Speranza, played by Pierpaolo Spollon, a renowned art advisor endowed with an extraordinary talent: he can tell whether an artwork is authentic or fake by observing even the smallest detail. An ability seemingly tied only to his work, but one that will prove invaluable when Cosmo becomes involved in the investigations of the Rome Mobile Squad. His counterpart is Inspector Angelo Tiberi, played by Andrea Lattanzi. The two will be forced to work side by side, giving rise to an investigative duo as unlikely as it is effective.
Because in ChiaroScuro not only paintings can be forged: a crime scene can hide a staging. It is precisely Cosmo’s trained eye that allows him to spot details others fail to see, reconstructing step by step the deceptions devised by the killers. But behind the new cases lies also a much more personal story. When on the crime scene a painting depicting his childhood home is found, Cosmo understands that the killer is trying to communicate directly with him. The clue pushes him to reopen a wound from the past and, above all, to return to the investigation concerning his father’s suicide. The search for the truth will thus intertwine present and past, in a journey where the boundary between authenticity and forgery becomes increasingly hard to discern.

They are joined by Paz Vega (Siviglia 1992) and Alessandro Preziosi (La vita bugiarda degli adulti).
