Crocodile Ready to Take the Stage: Joe Manganiello Reveals Details About One Piece 3

Having appeared briefly during the second season, Joe Manganiello will return for the One Piece third season and will once again portray the ruthless Crocodile, also known as Mr. O as the leader of Baroque Works. His role was only hinted at in previous episodes, but when One Piece resumes streaming on Netflix with a new season, Crocodile and Joe Manganiello will be more involved, and in a recent interview, he reiterated how important his contribution will be to the plot.

One Piece 3, Joe Manganiello teases a key detail about Crocodile

The second season ended by hinting at a more prominent live-action role for Crocodile, played by Joe Manganiello, and the actor, in a recent interview on X, confirmed that this is indeed the case. As the leader of Baroque Works, Crocodile teams up with Nico Robin and will play a crucial role in the Battle of Alabasta that we will see come to life in the course of the third season.

Thinking about his character, Manganiello offered an exact description of a location that is especially dear to him and could play a pivotal role in the third season: “This is my throne room, complete with a staircase from which I can topple anyone who betrays me. And over there, there’s my agalmatolite cage. I have a lever that lets me lower it into the water, and the cage really goes down live! From those crocodile heads up there, real water shoots out and drips down. I will miss all of this so much that, in fact, I had a replica piece made in the basement of my house.”

Already shown during the second season, Crocodile’s office could thus become a dangerous location in the upcoming episodes, as suggested by Manganiello. The actor mentioned an agalmatolite cage, a very rare stone prized for its particular strength and for its ability to inhibit powers derived from the Devil Fruit. This means that the cage is perfect for weakening enemies endowed with extraordinary abilities (like Luffy, for instance) and the actor’s detailed description hints that he will have an interesting role as the season unfolds.

Among the founders of the Cross Guild, Crocodile was a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and became the leader of Baroque Works. His objective is to conquer Alabasta as part of his grand scheme to seize the One Piece, and we know that the third season will focus mainly on that kingdom. In the meantime, to ease the waiting, Manganiello also revealed that he had met the manga’s creator Eiichiro Oda to discuss his character. At that moment, Oda replied: “Now the character belongs to you; it’s up to you to develop him and give him shape.”
