An attraction that suffocates every other, one that is impossible to resist, even as the years pass. An absolute passion, even though rationally we know not everything will turn out for the best. The atmospheres of a Moravia novel, such as the cold and detached but utterly beautiful Rome that hosts Matteo and Livia, the two protagonists of Desiderio, a film directed by actress Michela Cescon and inspired by a novel by Giorgio Montefoschi. Presented at the Rome Film Festival, in the Grand Public section. Written by Michela Cescon, Doriana Leondeff, Massimo Gaudioso and Cristiana Mainardi, the film is a production Lumière & Co. and Rai Cinema and will soon be released in theaters by Fandango Distribuzione.
We are in late-1980s Rome, Matteo (Enrico Borello) attends university and meets Livia (Romana Maggiora Vergano). He dreams of becoming a screenwriter, she is still unsure about her future. Between them, an attraction ignites immediately that lays bare the social differences and the insecurities of their age. Livia moves to London and years later Matteo has become a journalist, he is married to Anna and has two children. But unexpectedly he encounters Livia again.
