Every TV series or movie is often accompanied by rumors, some more pleasant than others. In the case of Desperate Housewives, for years there has been talk of alleged tensions on set that would have even involved Jesse Metcalfe, the actor introduced from the first season who portrayed the young and handsome gardener John Rowland, who turned out to be the lover of Gabrielle Solis. This means the actor worked closely with Eva Longoria, an experience he still recalls fondly today. But what might he have to say about the alleged behind-the-scenes tensions?
Desperate Housewives, Jesse Metcalfe si sbottona sui presunti dissapori dietro le quinte tra il cast
According to Jesse Metcalfe, he does not remember any particular turbulence from his time on the Desperate Housewives cast. Recently interviewed by E! News, the star admitted that he hadn’t “experienced much drama” behind the scenes as was whispered so far. “Probably it was due to my naivety and the fact that I was letting myself be swept away by the success and fame I had just gained. I wasn’t really aware of what was happening around me, but apparently there was a lot of drama on the TV show.”
Working closely with Eva Longoria, one of the series’ leads, was an important experience for Jesse Metcalfe; the actor confessed to feeling “a better person” by working beside her: “She has an incredible personality and makes everyone around her feel important.” Among the most beloved TV shows of that period, Desperate Housewives introduced audiences to stories of friends and neighbors dealing with mysteries and drama on Wisteria Lane. Eva Longoria played Gabby, but beside her there were also Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross.
Regarding the behind-the-scenes tensions, Jesse Metcalfe explained: “Apparently there were tensions among some of our lead actresses and also tensions between the creator and some of them. I certainly wasn’t involved. I wasn’t aware of it. But I know that it happened.” From his point of view, working on that TV series generated only fond memories: “In the history of television, Desperate Housewives will go down as one of the best TV series ever made, and it’s something I’m very proud of.”
