Impossible not to love her: Meredith Grey, the undisputed protagonist, one of the main pillars of the famous medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, which has kept us company since 2005, making us cry, feel, dream, in short, live with her. But over the years the actress Ellen Pompeo has acted in other beloved TV series: here are the ones.
Here are the TV series in which we’ve seen the Grey’s Anatomy actress
Ellen Pompeo, alias Meredith Grey, born in 1969, hails from Everett, Massachusetts, to a mother of Irish descent and a father of Italian descent. From the outset she understood that her true vocation was acting; thus, after a stint in New York and then in Miami, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
She made her on-screen debut toward the end of the ’90s with small cameos or supporting roles in TV series such as Law & Order — The Two Faces of Justice. In 2002-03 she appeared in the films Moonlight Mile — A Desire to Start Over, Catch Me If You Can, Old School and Daredevil. But the real turning point came in 2005 with the TV series Grey’s Anatomy in which she plays the doctor Meredith Grey and where she continues to star today.
In the following years, despite her commitment to the famous medical drama, the actress took part in other major projects including Station 19 and Good American Family. Recently she signed on as the lead of the new thriller TV series Not Sound and it was announced that she would star and serve as executive producer of Chicks. Moreover, Pompeo, in addition to being a constant presence in the iconic medical drama as a familiar face (even though her on-screen appearances have diminished) but above all as the narrator for all the episodes, works behind the scenes as an executive producer. On the sentimental side, the actress is married to American producer Chris Ivery, with whom she has three children.
