Arrives in our cinemas on November 12: Scrooge and the Spirits of Christmas, the film which, as many of you will know, features a beloved actor like Johnny Depp playing the part of Ebenezer Scrooge, the famous protagonist of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
This new film, inspired by one of the most famous stories ever told and one of the most frequently shown on cinema screens, is not, however, an adaptation like all the others. The screenwriter Nathaniel Halpern has in fact imagined a version of the tale that is particularly “ugly, dirty and mean,” and the director Ti West (yes, the very Ti West from the trilogy comprised of X, Pearl and MaXXXine, as well as many prior horrors) has signed off on a direction in which humor (consistently dark and pitch-black) is paired with dark, Gothic-horror aesthetics.
Scrooge and the Spirits of Christmas promises, therefore, to tell an Ebenezer never seen before: to learn more about the “true story” of this character, you can watch this brand-new featurette video.
