One of the most talented actresses on contemporary television, a four-time Emmy winner for her roles in the series The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie — Therapy Shock, Edie Falco will star in Katie Greaves (working title), a new legal drama ordered by the American network FOX for the 2027-28 season. The series comes from Sharr White, fresh from the acclaimed Apple TV legal drama Presumed Innocent, and counts among its producers Oscar-nominated Ridley Scott and The Good Wife veteran David W. Zucker.
Katie Greaves: The Plot of the TV Series with Edie Falco
Falco, who spent the last year on television with Mayor of Kingstown, will portray the title character Katie Greaves, a razor-sharp and deeply devoted attorney who, however, left the New Hampshire Public Defender’s Office after a devastating personal tragedy. Now she and her husband are tending to their two granddaughters, trying to rebuild a life she never imagined. Yet, because justice remains her calling, Katie is drawn back into the work that once defined her identity. Each case tests her instincts and intellect, in addition to her steadfast belief that everyone deserves a second chance—and someone to fight for them.
“Sharr has created an extraordinary character in Katie Greaves: funny, formidable, deeply human, and determined to fight for people who would otherwise be overlooked, including her own family,” said Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network, in a statement. “The remarkable Edie Falco brings to the screen all this strength, this wit, and this vulnerability; we could not wish for anyone else at the center of this story. Coupled with Sharr’s distinctive voice and the incredible pedigree of Ridley Scott, David Zucker, and the Scott Free team, we have precisely the kind of character-driven – high-caliber and visceral – drama we want at FOX.”
