In a couple of weeks, FBI will delight fans who were disappointed by the cancellation of the FBI: Most Wanted spin-off by bringing back one of its beloved characters to the screen. It has been announced that Shantel VanSanten will reprise the role of Special Agent Nina Chase in the ninth-season episode of the flagship series, airing in the United States on CBS on November 16.
FBI 9: The Circumstances of Nina Chase’s Return
VanSanten had been part of the cast of FBI: Most Wanted until spring 2025, when the procedural was canceled after six seasons, alongside the other spin-off FBI: International. In the seventh episode of season 9 of FBI, titled Posterity, the murder of an influencer will lead the team to discover that one of its cameras captured a criminal listed among the most dangerous fugitives (the so-called Most Wanted). The team will therefore cooperate with Special Agent Nina Chase to intercept him before he disappears again (the photo above is a preview).
This will be the second time FBI has hosted VanSanten since the cancellation of FBI: Most Wanted. Previously, in the eleventh episode of season 8—spoilers alert!—we had seen Nina engaged in an undercover operation, pushing a cartel member to betray their organization in exchange for protection. The hour concluded with the long-awaited wedding between Nina herself and Special Agent Stuart Scola (John Boyd), in which the rest of the FBI team also participated.
In Italy, season nine does not yet have a release date. We imagine it won’t arrive very soon, given that Rai 2 still has to air all episodes from the previous cycle.
