Prominent addition to the cast of Fire Country’s season 5. Jay Hayden, one of the leads of the concluded Station 19, in which he portrayed the firefighter Travis Montgomery for seven seasons, will appear in upcoming episodes as a prominent figure in Edgewater, the fictional northern California town that provides the setting for the series.
Fire Country: Jay Hayden’s Role in Season 5
According to TV Insider, starting from the fourth episode of the fifth season, airing in the United States on CBS on October 30, Hayden will portray Mason, a former professional baseball player, charismatic and self-assured, as well as an old teammate and friend of Bode (Max Thieriot) and Jake (Jordan Calloway). A member of a prominent Edgewater family, Mason returns to town with the objective of transforming his family’s old paper mill into a new business, but also to reconnect with his old friends. All laudable, if not for the fact that he hides a secret plan that could turn out to be a misfortune – or, perhaps, a boon – for the town.
Mason, depicted in the preview images released by the network that you can find below, is the second member of the Station 19 cast to appear in Fire Country in recent months. He follows Brett Tucker, seen in the final episodes of the previous season in the role of Alexi, a potential love interest for Sharon (Diane Farr).
