If you want to get children ready in the best possible way for Halloween, from October 15 to the cinema awaits the tender and lively animated film Frankie and the Forgotten Creatures, distributed by Vertice 360, a gothic fairy tale directed by Steve Hudson and inspired by Guy Bass‘s books from the StitchHead series. Frankie and the Forgotten Creatures, the story of the animated film based on StitchHead
Protagonist of Frankie and the Forgotten Creatures is the small Frankie “StitchHead”, the first creature brought to life by a somewhat unhinged professor. He has been left alone to take care of the other “experiments“, who like him inhabit a castle isolated in the county of Grubbers Nubbin. One day a door opens for Frankie to change his life: the arrival in town of a cynical circus impresario (whose name is all part of the act: Fulgenzio Trovamostri), who promises him fortune, fame and all the affection he has always desired, if he agrees to join the troupe and become part of his caravanserai. Frankie accepts, but soon realizes he has made a dangerous mistake: nothing compares to our friends and the loved ones we have nearby… and which we may take for granted.
This adventure is drawn from the StitchHead book series by Guy Bass, a respected author of children’s books. To support the cinematic release, one of the volumes, published in Italy by Rizzoli, will be republished with a band bearing the film’s original poster. The adaptation was handled by the same director Steve Hudson, an English character actor who here takes on directing an animated film for the first time, in this case a co-production between the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Luxembourg, presented at the Giffoni Film Festival 2025 and produced by Aniventure (which has recently also worked on Andy Serkis’s Animal Farm).
