Frisco King: Samuel L. Jackson Is a Gangster in the First Tulsa King Spin-Off Trailer

As the General’s new ventures begin today, with the Paramount+ debut of the fourth season of Tulsa King, the streaming service has wisely paved the way for his far-flung companion in crime, Russell Lee Washington Jr., the star of the spin-off Frisco King. Now we know its debut date, December 18, 2026, the same day on which Tulsa King 4 will conclude, and we can also catch a glimpse of it through the first trailer.

Frisco King: the plot of the new TV series

Created once again by Taylor Sheridan, Frisco King follows Oscar-nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) in the role of Lee, a New Orleans gangster whom the audience of Tulsa King has already met in the crime drama’s previous season. On that occasion, the longtime killer was dispatched to Oklahoma to kill his old prison friend Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone). Yet, in the end, he chose to disobey orders, ending up helping The General resolve a matter with a local alcoholic magnate. In the final scene, Lee told Dwight: “Seeing what you’ve built here makes me want to go back to New Orleans and perhaps start over.”

Indeed, Lee ends up doing just that, but not in New Orleans. In Frisco King, we will watch the seasoned gangster reach the Texas city that shares his surname, uncovering a playground for con artists hidden beneath the flawless veneer of America’s suburbs. He thus decides to recruit an ambitious protégé, a loyal driver, and an ever-expanding network of eccentric associates to turn small scams into a major enterprise. However, every new strike raises the stakes, and as his influence grows, so do the risks, forcing Lee to stay one step ahead with his deceptions.

Stallone, one of the producers of Frisco King, will appear in the spin-off. The rest of the cast includes Asa Germann (Gen V), Kai Caster (Yellowstone), Lilah Pate (Outer Banks) and Savanna Gann (English Teacher).
