Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is gearing up for another chaotic chapter. The 23rd season of Grey’s Anatomy will premiere in the United States on October 15, 2026, with Italy following later on Disney+. The official trailer teases a serious plane crash, fresh arrivals at the hospital, and romantic developments that will further complicate life on the wards. Watch it below.
Grey’s Anatomy 23, an airplane incident shakes Grey Sloan
In the trailer, two planes collide on the runway, triggering a disaster that will force doctors to step in to救 a large number of victims. The mass casualty event will test surgeons and residents alike. Among the new elements is a dedicated unit for VIP patients, introduced by Catherine Fox and Richard Webber. This facility will introduce Seth Norton, portrayed by James Wolk: a surgeon who has become an entrepreneur, arrogant and primarily focused on profit, potentially clashing with Meredith Grey.
New loves and romantic triangles: what will happen?
Romantic complications will not be lacking. Jules Millin and Winston Ndugu appear to be getting closer, but Ben Warren will warn Winston after catching them together. Simone Griffith could also experience fresh romantic moments with Lucas Adams, as implied by a trailer scene. The most delicate dynamic, however, centers on Amelia Shepherd, Toni Wright, and Cass Beckman. After spending a night with Cass, Amelia will acknowledge a mistake, yet her feelings for Toni do not seem to have faded. Get ready for another love triangle. Among the principal narratives will be Jo Wilson and Atticus “Link” Lincoln. After injuring his shoulder at the end of season 22, Link appears to continue relying on painkillers, drawing the suspicions of his wife.
The cast: New characters and departures
In addition to James Wolk, the cast will welcome Sarah Levy as Corrie Witty, a soon-to-be mother scarred by a traumatic experience, Martin Martinez as Charlie, and Trevor Tordjman as Thomas. As expected, Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver will not return, the actors portraying Owen Hunt and Teddy Altman, who left for Paris in the previous finale. Instead, Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. will come back, alongside a mix of familiar faces and newer members of the series.
