Binge watching da brivido: le migliori miniserie per il weekend di Halloween
Midnight Mass
Mike Flanagan is a guarantee when it comes to horror stories, and one of the miniseries perfect to binge over a weekend, especially a Halloween one, is Midnight Mass. Available on streaming Netflix in 2021, it tells a tale set on the remote Crockett Island, inhabited by only a hundred or so residents. Here arrives Riley Flynn, a former entrepreneur who has just spent four years in prison after killing his fiancée while driving drunk. Seeking a safe place to start anew, he visits his parents who live on Crockett. Meanwhile, the island welcomes the charismatic Father Paul, who begins to perform miracles. Between prayers and omens, the community is soon shaken by blood-red nightmares. Midnight Mass consists of seven episodes, perfect for a spook-inducing sofa experience.
Agatha All Along
Another miniseries composed of nine seasons and which has chosen as its protagonist a witch with an ambiguous soul is Agatha All Along. It is a WandaVision spin-off and a story firmly anchored in the Marvel Universe. The protagonist is Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch who falls under a spell she manages to break after the arrival of a mysterious boy who will prove to be Scarlet Witch’s son. To reclaim her powers, Agatha bands together an unlikely congregation of outcasts to travel along the Witch Path. Perfect for Halloween, Agatha All Along follows the wavering journey of a woman overwhelmed by darkness as she navigates a scavenger hunt through black magic, sisterhood, and pain.
Coven Academy
Among the new titles available to stream on Disney+ and ideal for a lighter, teen-friendly Halloween, we find Coven Academy – L’Accademia delle streghe. Conceived by Tim Federle, Coven Academy is a supernatural teen drama set at a prestigious magic school in New Orleans, where Briar arrives and discovers she possesses magical powers. Together with her schoolmates, Briar will attempt to make sense of her mother’s inexplicable death, seemingly linked to other brutal murders unsettling the supernatural community. Between spells, forbidden loves, dark enemies, and lurking vampires, the series has already been renewed for a second season and features 21 episodes with a steady pace, aiming for a Gothic setting and blending drama, mystery, and magic—a perfect Halloween cocktail.
