Harry Potter at Lucca Comics & Games: HBO Max Pavilion Hides Preview of New Series (Video)

Lucca Comics & Games, this year, becomes more magical than ever with the arrival of the HBO Max pavilion dedicated to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the new HBO Original series anticipated for Christmas 2026. In St. Michael’s Square, fans of the saga can immerse themselves in the universe created by J.K. Rowling through an experiential journey that harks back to the atmosphere of Hogwarts with installations, set-bound props, and various activities designed to guide audiences toward the series’ debut. We experienced the installation and share with you what hides inside in the video you can find below.

Harry Potter, what hides in the HBO Max pavilion at Lucca Comics & Games 2026?

The initiative offers a chance to engage with some of the most iconic elements of the Harry Potter universe and to catch a preview of the creative work shaping the forthcoming television adaptation. To greet visitors, there could only be the Hogwarts Express, with its unmistakable scarlet livery, one of the most recognizable symbols of Potter’s world. The pavilion also houses the Owl Post Station and a special post office where visitors can write a letter to HBO Max to share their expectations for the new series and describe what they would like to see in the next television chapter of the saga. Completing the journey are the Student Chests, dedicated recreations for the four Hogwarts Houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each House is characterized by traits that have accompanied generations of readers and viewers, from the courage and boldness of Gryffindor to the loyalty and patience of Hufflepuff, through the wisdom of Ravenclaw and the ambition and cunning of Slytherin.

The Sorting Hat of the new HBO series on display for the world premiere

The true centerpiece of the pavilion is the Sorting Hat crafted specifically by the costume designers of the new HBO series. The object, an authentic reproduction of what we will see on screen, is being unveiled for the first time worldwide at Lucca Comics & Games 2026, giving fans the chance to study it up close before the release. As we know, in the Harry Potter universe, the Sorting Hat plays a fundamental role in the lives of Hogwarts students, assigning each new arrival to the House best suited to their traits. This version aims to be very close and faithful to the one from the novel. The overall impression for those visiting the installation and encountering the series’ visual universe for the first time is that of stepping between the pages of the book.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, when does the new HBO series come out?

The series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will arrive on HBO Max at Christmas 2026, while a second season is already in production. Based directly on J.K. Rowling’s books, the new series is poised to recount Harry Potter’s story from the very beginning, starting with his entry into the magical world and the discovery of Hogwarts. At the helm of the project is Francesca Gardiner, the screenwriter and executive producer of the series. Mark Mylod serves as executive producer and directs several episodes. The production is entrusted to HBO, in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
