Adapted from the eponymous novel by Holly Ringland and known in its original language as The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, this miniseries streamed on Prime Video during 2023, led by Sigourney Weaver, an Oscar-nominated actress best known to many for starring in successful franchises such as Alien and Avatar. Yet on TV, the actress has pursued select projects and returned in 2023 with The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. This Australian miniseries chronicles the story of the young Alice Hart: an orphan at nine after a tragic accident, Alice is entrusted to her paternal grandmother June, portrayed by Weaver, and grows up on the evocative wildflower farm that has long served as a refuge for women who have suffered violence and trauma.
The Narrow Road to the Deep North
Also in this case, The Narrow Road to the Deep North is adapted from the eponymous novel by Richard Flanagan, originally titled The Narrow Road to the Deep North. This Australian miniseries aired in 2025 and features Jacob Elordi as its undisputed lead; Elordi is a film star known for performances in Priscilla, Saltburn, Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights and the recent The Dog Stars – The Stars After the End. Although he had already enjoyed success on TV, notably in Euphoria, here he commands the show as its main protagonist. The story unfolds across three narrative arcs following Dorrigo Evans, a military doctor who initially falls in love with his uncle’s wife Amy Mulvaney. The second segment follows him as a prisoner of war in Thailand during the Burma Railway project, while the final act shifts to the 1980s, by which point he has become a war veteran and a renowned surgeon. Solos
An anthology miniseries, Solos is the brainchild of David Weil and features a strictly Hollywood ensemble, beginning with Anne Hathaway, beloved since the days of The Princess Diaries. As one of the most ambitious experimental projects of recent years, it also features Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, as well as Anthony Mackie, Uzo Aduba, Constance Wu and Dan Stevens, comprising seven episodes set in a near-future, each guided by intimate monologues from the characters. Every installment explores human connection and the weight of solitude and is available for streaming on Prime Video.
