The new Hunger Games film arrives in Italian cinemas on November 19, distributed by Notorious Pictures, and is based on the eponymous novel by Suzanne Collins, serving as a prequel to what we have seen so far. Hunger Games: The Dawn on the Harvest is indeed set 24 years before the adventures of Katniss Everdeen (portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence), and more precisely it unfolds during the 50th Hunger Games, historically known as the Second Quarter Quell: an edition in which, to celebrate the fifty-year milestone, instead of the usual 24 tributes, 48 are drawn.
The protagonist of this scenario is the sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy, the character who in the previous films was an adult and played by Woody Harrelson, and who here instead has the face of Joseph Zada. Of the very rich cast, there are also Mckenna Grace (Maysilee Donner, the original owner of the Mockingjay pin), Whitney Peak (Lenore Dove Baird, Haymitch’s fiancée),
Ralph Fiennes (the President Coriolanus Snow), Jesse Plemons (Plutarch Heavensbee, a role that was held by Philip Seymour Hoffman), and also Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Maya Hawke, Glenn Close, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Billy Porter.
As in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, the film’s direction is by Francis Lawrence.
