Chances are you’ve seen it and you’ve likely enjoyed it. We’re talking about the miniseries His & Hers (La sua verità in the original Italian version), one of Netflix’s most-watched series of all time, starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal as two ex-spouses who investigate a murder in Georgia. That success, which burst onto the scene somewhat unexpectedly at the start of this year, has now encouraged the streaming service to team up again with William Oldroyd, its creator, screenwriter and director, for the development of another series, Twist, based, like His & Hers, on a novel by Alice Feeney.
After His Truth, Twist arrives: the plot of the new TV series
The novel, whose publication is slated for early next year, tells another high-tension story that revolves around love, marriage, murder and revenge. The heroine is a flight attendant who leads a double life with two different husbands, lives their that are about to be upended by a murder. Narrated from two viewpoints, the story unfolds with twists and secrets that come to light, in a marital thriller that poses the fundamental question: is it truly possible to know the person you marry inside and out?
The project is also involving Fifth Season, the same production company behind His & Hers. That series was Netflix’s most-watched show in the first half of the year, accumulating 104 million global views. “Twist gives us the opportunity to reunite an extraordinary creative team around another brilliant and gripping thriller from Alice Feeney,” Noah Greenshner of Fifth Season stated in a press release. “The remarkable success of His & Hers has shown what this team is capable of achieving together; we’re excited to continue collaborating with Alice, William and Bill [Dubuque], as well as with our partners at Campout Productions, Freckle Films and Viva Maude.”
Feeney added: “After the wonderful experience of His & Hers, it was incredibly easy to decide to reunite the team for Twist. It’s like a dream come true. I love this book, I love this team and I can’t wait to see these characters come to life on screen.”
