Il Mostro
Between 1968 and 1985, the city of Florence and the whole of Italy were shaken by eight double murders. A serial killer shot young couples who would retreat to the countryside, and then attacked the lifeless body of the girl. This brutal killer went down in history under the nickname Monster of Florence. Il Mostro is a true-crime TV series created and directed by Stefano Sollima in which the early phase of the investigations is retraced, focusing on the “Sardinian lead.” Only 4 episodes, but another season is coming, this time centered on the controversial figure Pietro Pacciani. Available on Netflix.
Boris
Alessandro joins the set of a television series, Gli occhi del cuore 2, as an intern. Although he has high expectations, he soon finds himself confronted with the harsh reality; in the universe he is thrust into, led by the director René Ferretti and inhabited by particularly capricious actors, absurdity and cynicism reign supreme. Boris is a brilliant 2007 TV series, but also a merciless satire of the world of show business, especially its behind-the-scenes. 4 seasons and 50 episodes that you should catch up on as soon as possible on Disney +.
Call My Agent – Italia
The CMA partners, a representation agency in the capital, do not lead a life as easy as one might think. All of them, in fact, must daily cope with problems of every kind, starting from negotiations and rivals worthy of note to the paranoias of the most great names in Italian cinema, who here play themselves with irresistible self-irony. Call My Agent – Italia is a 2023 TV series—still in production—that you can find on NOW and Sky. 3 seasons and 18 episodes.
Prisma
Marco and Andrea are two twins, identical in appearance, who live in Latina. Together with their group of friends, the youths are starting to have their first experiences, so as to understand who they truly are deep down, but also what they truly desire and dream for. Prisma is a coming-of-age TV series from 2022, created by the same authors of SKAM Italia. 2 seasons and 16 episodes in which the certainties—or presumed ones—crumble, to make space for something more authentic, namely the doubts typical of adolescence.
