While she is about to make her debut in Italian cinemas as the (dual) lead in the horror Mammina, we will soon have the chance to see Jessica Chastain portraying a markedly different character in a new Netflix film that will premiere in streaming a little over a month from now, on November 13. The film in question is titled Hearland; it is a thriller that centers on country music and mysterious disappearances, and it was written and directed by American filmmaker Shana Feste.
The former country music superstar Misty Jones emerges from her isolation to investigate the disappearance of her niece, a rising young country musician, and to confront her past and the darkest side of Nashville. Her pursuit uncovers a murky aspect of the city where no one, not even Misty, is truly who they seem.
Chastain obviously plays the lead role of Misty, and beside her we find a cast that includes John Hawkes, Carter Faith, Garrett Hedlund, Jennifer Nettles, Ross Lynch and Ben Dickey.
Here is the official trailer for Hearland.
