Kayce Dutton might once again find himself in the crosshairs. The official Italian trailer for the second season of Marshals: A Yellowstone Story previews a new threat to the lead character, played by Luke Grimes, this time closely tied to his family and, above all, to his son Tate. Watch the clip below, which also announces the release date of the new episodes, from October 5, 2026 on Paramount+.
Marshals: A Yellowstone Story 2, what to expect in the new season
In the trailer, Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey), the wealthy ranch owner, returns to the center of the story and appears determined not to relinquish East Camp. After Kayce’s refusal, Weaver decides to raise the stakes and send him a very clear message: Tate’s future could be at stake. Kayce’s son is currently in Texas, where Weaver had tried to help him overcome the trauma of the East Camp events. Yet his safety is put at serious risk. Kayce is deeply concerned for the boy and contemplates everything Tate has had to endure. The young man, however, shows himself to feel strong precisely thanks to the upbringing he received from his father.
Kayce returns to John Dutton’s grave
Among the trailer’s most significant images is also the one of Kayce standing before John Dutton’s tomb, the family patriarch portrayed in the original series by Kevin Costner. The moment accompanies a reflection on the family’s legacy: for Kayce, being a Dutton has never meant merely defending the land, but rather being compelled to fight continually. The lead appears determined to break this cycle, especially for Tate’s sake.
The cast: Returns in the second season
The trailer also offers some previews of the rest of the team. Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) seems to still stand by the Marshals, despite at the end of season 1 she was ready to move to Washington, D.C. Pete “Cal” Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green) and Belle Skinner-Turek (Arielle Kebbel) also return, survivors of the events of the season 1 finale. Between the two, in particular, there also appears to be an ever-closer bond.
