Landman 3: Michael Kelly Arrives as Tommy’s New Rival?

A heavyweight figure from the oil industry will make his appearance in the third season of Landman, and portraying him will be a screen heavyweight: four-time Emmy nominee Michael Kelly, memorable in House of Cards – The Intrigues of Power and in recent years among the faces of another Taylor Sheridan series for Paramount+, Lioness. The actor will team up with the protagonist Billy Bob Thornton and will be a regular presence in the new season.

Landman 3: Michael Kelly’s Role in the New Season

While we await news about when these new episodes of Landman will be available for streaming, we can reveal that Kelly will join the third season as William Crockett, the executive of the world’s largest company involved in oil-related activities. A titan of the industry, Crockett exudes efficiency and wealth. While Paramount+ does not disclose details of his relationship with Tommy Norris (Thornton), the fact that the latter has recently founded his own oil company and that he generally does not warm to corporate executives could hint at what to expect.

Recall that the second season of Landman ended with Tommy, just after being fired from MTex, launching CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle. The company, financed by Gallino (Andy Garcia), will see Cooper (Jacob Lofland) in the role of chairman of the board and Tommy as senior vice president. “Many of us would be thrilled by such a prospect, of a more glamorous lifestyle, but Tommy shines brightest when he’s out in the field, working side by side with the operating teams and handling the day-to-day activities,” co-creator Christian Wallace teased to TVLine. The new company, therefore, “offers him the opportunity to devote more time to the aspects he values most about this extremely demanding job.”
