Left Out of the Emmys: Actors Whose Deaths Were Ignored at the Awards

The Emmy Awards gala this year has left us with all kinds of fond memories to hold onto. The list of winners is in itself a reason for celebration, with the series ‘Widow’s Bay’ as the night’s greatest winner. But not everything that happened over the year could find a place at the gala, and it seems one of the biggest blows is an entire list of omissions of actors we have lost this year.

When it comes to paying tribute to the deceased since the 2025 gala, a number of names have not shown up. One of the most notable has been Nicholas Brendon, a striking omission given his earlier contribution to the show that made it possible, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. Despite the prominence given to him during the night as support for the tough recent years for its cast, Brendon’s name did not appear in the moment of silence, unlike some of his fellow actors.

Quite a Few Names Forgotten

Brendon is one of the most notable cases, but he is not the only one. During the night Chuck Norris was not mentioned, a legend for his work on television in iconic series like ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’. Other notable omissions included Patrick Muldoon, who we lost a few months ago at barely 57 years old. His contributions to series such as ‘Saved by the Bell’ or ‘Days of Our Lives’ were not enough for the responsible team to remember to add his name on screen.

The list of omissions in the In Memoriam continues with young Daveigh Chase for her work in ‘Lilo & Stitch’ or ‘The Ring’ , Jaye P. Morgan from ‘The Gong Show’

or Grizz Chapman from ’30 Rock’. It also highlights the absence of Robert Redford, whose contributions were more significant in film but whose career began with guest roles in 1950s and 1960s TV series.

A Memorial Send-Off

The omissions of these names may be due to dozens of reasons, from simple human error to private behind-the-scenes decisions. We cannot say for certain why none of these absences were acknowledged at the gala itself, but at least we, the fans, can mention their names again after the gala so they do not fall into oblivion.
