Life After The Night Agent: Gabriel Basso’s Guilty Creatures

As The Night Agent moves toward its finale, with the fourth and final season expected on Netflix in the coming months, its lead actor, Gabriel Basso, has already found his next television commitment, a role that will bring him to the rival streaming service Apple TV. The 31-year-old actor has secured one of the principal roles in Guilty Creatures, a thriller based on Mikita Brottman’s true-crime book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida. He will be joined by three-time Emmy winner Julia Garner (Inventing Anna, Ozark), alongside additional cast members Mary-Louise Parker (The Institute), Maddie Hasson (The Recruit) and Lewis Pullman (Outer Range).

Guilty Creatures: The Plot of the New Apple TV Series

Created by Sarah DeLappe (The Regime – The Palace of Power), Guilty Creatures is set in the Florida Panhandle, against a backdrop of a murky milieu. The story explores the dynamics of a torrid relationship, culminating in a murder, between two young lovers who are adulterous but God-fearing — portrayed by Garner and Pullman — revealing the complexities of their lives and the emotional weight of living for 18 years with the awareness of being murderers.

The specifics of the character entrusted to Basso, as well as those of the other cast members, remain undisclosed at the moment. What is known is that the directing of the episodes has been entrusted to Craig Gillespie, whose collaboration with Apple TV has already yielded an Emmy nomination for Your Friends and Neighbors. Stuart Zicherman (The Americans) will serve as the showrunner.
