Lifelong Architect: Interview with Elisa and Massimiliano Fuksas

An architect who would have liked to become a director and a director who could have become an architect. Father and daughter, united by the dimension of play that expresses itself in spaces to be designed and filled, or left empty. They are Massimiliano Fuksas, one of the most renowned architects in our country in the last century, and his daughter Elisa, who over many years has gathered footage and interviews, behind the scenes of her father’s works and glimpses into his daily life. After all, to have memories you need a witness, as she explains.

The result is a disenchanting film, without rhetoric, outside the schemes of biographical glorification, capable of telling the passion for reinventing oneself constantly. Fuksas – da tutta la vita is a documentary presented today at the Festa del Cinema di Roma and soon in theaters for PiperFilm. A production by Indiana with 7A, in collaboration with Rai Cinema and Tenderstories. In the film, besides Massimiliano and Elisa Fuksas, there are also Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas and Lavinia Fuksas, the cinematography by Emanuele Zarlenga, Michele D’Attanasio, Leonardo Mirabilia, the editing by Natalie Cristiani, and the music by Iosonouncane.

We met father and daughter Fuksas in this video interview, on the occasion of the Festa del Cinema di Roma.
