The filming of the sixth and final season of Emily in Paris has wrapped, and the actress took to social media to share a lengthy message bidding farewell to the character she has played for seven years across six seasons of the Netflix series. The release date is set for streaming on December 24, 2026.

“I am speechless. It’s impossible to find the words to describe what this journey has meant to me,” Lily Collins wrote. “For so many years, Emily has been part of my life and, at every turn, she has continued to surprise me, inspire me and challenge me,” she added. The image chosen to accompany the post is especially meaningful: Collins is seated on a chair with the word “Fin” on the backrest, right at Place de l’Estrapade, in Paris, the place where it all began. In her message, the actress then described the farewell as surreal and bittersweet, but explained that she feels above all a huge sense of pride and gratitude for having had the opportunity to portray Emily.
She also offered a special thanks to Darren Star, the show’s creator, “for imagining this endlessly optimistic American girl in Paris, who continually finds herself outside her comfort zone, learning to trust herself and lean on others as she faces her new life.” Finally, she extended thanks to the crew, the writers, the directors and especially the viewers who have accompanied the series over the years. “I will carry this chapter with me forever. Saying goodbye is a completely surreal and bittersweet feeling, but above all, I am incredibly proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to portray her and to have been part of something so joyful,” she concluded.

Emily’s farewell will be one of Netflix’s holiday offerings. The sixth and final season of Emily in Paris will debut on December 24, 2026, with all episodes available on the platform. Darren Star had hinted at making the concluding chapter the most ambitious in the series, once again expanding the horizons. After the Italian settings of the previous season, the story will move toward new European destinations. The final season will take Emily away from Paris, at least for part of her new adventure. Among the locations we know of are Greece and the Principality of Monaco.
On the narrative level, Emily will have to face some of the most significant decisions of her life. The season’s synopsis reads: “Entering a new era of ambition and love, Emily finds herself facing crucial choices that will test her deepest loyalty. But when unexpected career conflicts and evolving relationships push her to reassess where her true future lies, she will have to make one final choice between her career, her heart and the life she has built in Paris.” In the final season’s cast, alongside Lily Collins, will return Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Minnie Driver and Paul Forman.
