Among the films that were in competition at the Venice Film Festival a few weeks ago, and which perhaps deserved to be included among the prize-winners, there is certainly Look Back, the new film directed by one of the great masters of contemporary Japanese cinema, Hirokazu Kore-eda. We therefore hope it can score a small comeback when it hits Italian cinemas, scheduled for November 12 by Lucky Red in collaboration with BiM Distribuzione.
The film was written by Kore-eda based on a manga of the same name by Fujimoto Tatsuki (the author also of the hugely successful Chainsaw Man manga saga) which in Italy was published by Star Comics. The story it tells, with the style and delicacy that distinguish the Japanese director, is that of the meeting and friendship that evolves over the years between two girls both passionate about drawing who, initially rivals against their will, will become a pair of famous mangaka: the first is Fujino, a talented and determined teenager, the second is Kyomoto, a reserved and solitary girl.
Here below we present the Italian trailer and the teaser poster for Look Back, which feature Deguchi Natsuki and Makita Ajuche in the lead roles, and which before its cinema debut will be presented in preview, in the presence of its author, at Lucca Comics & Games.
