Driven by the curiosity to tell a director’s story in a different light, after portraying his films with behind-the-scenes photos. One of the industry’s leading professionals in Italy has decided to tell the story of one of the masters of our cinema in Marco Bellocchio – The Door to Reality, the documentary directed by Fabio Lovino, produced by Loft Produzioni and Reggatta Production, and dedicated to the great master of Italian cinema, presented in Official Selection – Out of Competition at the 79th Locarno Film Festival, and in theaters for Lucky Red.
After nearly twenty years of collaboration with Marco Bellocchio, the documentary arises from Fabio Lovino‘s desire to tell the human and artistic universe of one of the most important auteurs of contemporary cinema. Through unseen images and testimonies, the film enters the heart of his creative process and retraces, together with colleagues, friends and family, the path of a director who has continually renewed his own language, living an extraordinary creative season and earning international recognition, without ever losing the depth and freedom of his gaze.
