Matthew McConaughey: Honey, Bluegrass, and Guns — Official Italian Trailer for The Ballad of the Bee King

Excluding The Lost Bus, which, however, went straight to streaming, Matthew McConaughey had not appeared in a big-screen film since The Gentlemen, in 2019. We will see him again from November 19 as the lead in a new film titled The Ballad of the Bee King, a crime-thriller set in the heart of rural America that blends tension, family ties, and bluegrass music, built around a charismatic and unconventional character who seems tailor-made for the popular American actor, a beekeeper and musician who must defend what he has built over a lifetime from a group of unscrupulous rivals.
This is the official plot:

The charismatic Amziah King is a pillar for his community: a beekeeper and musician, he leads an eccentric group of misfits united by their passion for bees and bluegrass music. When Kateri, the adopted daughter with whom he had lost contact, returns to town, he takes the opportunity to reconnect and teach her everything he knows. But honey is a dirty business: Amziah’s operation is coveted by many—dangerous men willing to go to extremes—and both he and Kateri will have to fight tenaciously to defend the Bee King’s empire. Oscar-winning Matthew McConaughey, supported by a cast rich with memorable characters, including an enigmatic rival played by Kurt Russell, is the star of a gripping and spiraling ballad, a feel-good movie that is both exciting and visually magnificent.

The Ballad of the Bee King is the new film written and directed by Andrew Patterson, the young writer-director who had debuted a few years ago with an excellent and unusual film titled The Vast of Night, which you can find streaming on Prime Video (here is our review). Alongside McConaughey, Patterson has assembled a cast that, in addition to the cited Kurt Russell, includes Angelina LookingGlass in the role of Amziah’s daughter, Jake Horowitz, Rob Morgan, Tony Revolori, Owen Teague, Bruce Davis and Cole Sprouse.
Here is the official Italian trailer for the film, which will be in cinemas from November 19 with I Wonder Pictures.
