Mayor of Kingstown Prepares for the Grand Finale: The Plot of Season 5
With Jeremy Renner back in the role of Mike McLusky and Edie Falco aboard, the series heads toward the culmination of its narrative. Eight episodes will guide viewers through the last confrontation over the power dynamics of a city where crime, justice, and the prison system are bound by relationships that are difficult to break.
Mayor of Kingstown chronicles the life of the McLusky family, a powerful go-between among the police, crime, and the prison system in the fictional Michigan town of Kingstown. At the story’s center is Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner), who strives to maintain a delicate balance in a world ruled by violence, corruption, and power struggles. The fifth season will pick up from the consequences of the most dramatic events of the fourth installment. Following the murder of Tracy McLusky, Mike’s sister-in-law, and the revenge against Callahan executed by Mike and his brother, Kyle, the situation in Kingstown remains far from resolved. The choices made by the two brothers threaten to unleash new repercussions, while the city’s fragile equilibrium hangs by a thread. The situation is likely to be further complicated by Russell Hardy, an FBI agent portrayed by David Morse, who joins the regular cast. Determined to locate the fugitive Callahan, Hardy is a lawman who insists on following the rules and bringing clarity. Yet his investigation could uncover Mike’s sins and secrets, challenging the power structure that the protagonist has fought to sustain.
The Cast: Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco Lead the Final Season

Returning are Derek Webster as Stevie, Necar Zadegan as Evelyn Foley, Nichole Galicia as Rebecca, and Lennie James as Frank Moses. The major new addition is David Morse as FBI agent Russell Hardy. Rounding out the ensemble is Laura Benanti, back in the role of Cindy Stephens.
Jeremy Renner in Rome on October 23: A Masterclass on the Craft of Acting
While awaiting his return as Mike McLusky, Jeremy Renner will be in Rome on Friday, October 23, for an event dedicated to his career and the art of acting. The actor, a two-time Oscar nominee, will headline a masterclass organized within Fuori Sala, the format conceived by Alice nella città (Alice in the City). The gathering, scheduled at the Theatre Sistina at 8:00 PM, will revisit some of the most significant performances of his career: from the explosive expert in The Hurt Locker, the film that earned him an Oscar nomination, to Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye in the Marvel Universe, and up to his own Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown. At the end of the event, Renner will receive the Special Jury Award for Youth from Alice in the City. The tribute will be accompanied by the screening of two episodes of Hawkeye, the Marvel Studios series available on Disney+ in which the actor reprises Clint Barton. In Rome, Renner will also present My Next Breath: A Memoir, the autobiography in which he recounts in his own words his comeback after the severe accident of 2023. The book traces three pivotal moments of that experience: the incident, the hospitalization, and the long recovery. Having become a New York Times bestseller, the memoir remains unpublished in Italy.
