September 1st is the day when, for many, summer inevitably gives way to the return to school. And what better moment, then, to ring the bell for Minerva – The School? Today the official trailer for Netflix’s new Italian teen drama series arrived, arriving on September 22, 2026 with eight episodes. Watch it below.
The Plot of Minerva – The School
Set in a Naples military high school, the series brings to the screen a world of razor-edged rules, divisions, military tactics, and fencing lessons. But behind the institute’s discipline lies a far more complex universe, made of rivalries, friendships, forbidden loves, and secrets some would prefer to keep hidden. In Minerva – The School student life is governed by discipline. They wake at dawn for the flag-raising, study military tactics, and learn to fence. The school demands obedience and rigor, but the boys and girls remain, at heart, teenagers, with their desires, their fears, and their feelings. As relationships deepen, rivalries and personal ambitions arise, while the mystery surrounding Salvo’s past threatens to expose a truth someone has tried to hide.
The Cast and Characters
The trailer introduces the young leads of the story and sets the atmosphere of Minerva High, a place seemingly out of time where students must give up many of the freedoms typical of their age. No cell phones, no civilian clothes, and above all, no love stories: any transgression can carry very serious consequences. At the center of the story are Salvo Fusco, played by Ciro Minopoli, Vincenzo Cipriani, played by Biagio Venditti, and Camilla Savino, played by Margherita Buoncristiani. Salvo arrives at Minerva with a specific aim: to uncover the truth about his best friend’s disappearance. Vincenzo, by contrast, is the son of a military family and wants to follow in his father’s footsteps, while Camilla is a rebellious Milanese girl sent to the institution by her father with the goal of being “reformed.”
But the series doesn’t tell only the students’ point of view. Beside them are the officers and civilian teachers tasked with shaping them, adults who must also reckon with their own fragilities. In the cast stand out Massimiliano Gallo, in the role of Commander Achille Giordano, Cristiana Capotondi, who plays teacher Laura Canali, and Irene Maiorino, in the shoes of Vice-Commander Teresa Bonaiuto. Previewed in premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival 2026, the series, produced by Roberto Sessa for Picomedia (a company of the Asacha group and part of Fremantle) and directed by Ivan Silvestrini, also involves in the cast Raiz, Michele Rosiello, Antonio Adaggio and Carmen Annibale. The young ensemble furthermore includes Giulio Brizzi, Nicole Malaj, Beatrice Savignani, Simone Secce and Alicia Edogamhe.
