The spooky season is back and, ahead of schedule, Disney+ has teased a fresh adventure that quickly captured interest. It is titled Coven Academy: the Witch Academy and the story unfolds within the walls of a magic school where nothing that happens is a mere coincidence. Available for streaming from October 2, 2026, Coven Academy: the Witch Academy introduces audiences to students endowed with magical abilities starting with Briar, the protagonist played by Malina Pauli Weissman. If you appreciated this new TV series and are seeking the same vibes, we have three titles for you to catch on streaming, perfect for this season.
Did you enjoy Coven Academy? Here are 3 TV series between dark magic and mysterious schools
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Originally titled in its original language The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, it is adapted from the Archie Comics series of the same name and chronicles the young Sabrina Spellman, half human and half witch. She lives in Greendale with her aunts, the cat Salem, and her cousin Ambrose, and once she turns sixteen, Sabrina is faced with a life-changing choice: embrace her witch nature and sever ties with humanity forever, or take the other path. On the eve of her Blood Baptism, Sabrina resolves not to renounce either world but to live in both, and that refusal triggers a chain of events that jeopardizes both realms. Like Coven Academy, Sabrina attends a magical school, the Academy of the Dark Arts, a secret institution led by the Father of the Night. For both titles, the atmosphere is steeped in teenage drama mixed with dark magic, strict rules to follow, and a rebellious heroine at the center. Unlike Coven Academy, which has just made its streaming debut, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comprises four seasons streaming on Netflix.
Fate: The Winx Saga
Based on the beloved animated series Winx Club, Fate: The Winx Saga didn’t fare especially well on Netflix, being halted after two seasons despite fans’ strong disappointment. This Italian-British TV series, launched in 2021, is set at the Alfea School, and follows Bloom, a fairy of enormous power who struggles to master it. Alfea is inhabited not only by fairies but also by other magical creatures and by the Specialists, who are trained in combat. Bloom grew up in the human world where she discovers she possesses the power of fire, and to learn to control it she ends up at Alfea where she meets other fairies like her: Stella, Musa, Aisha, and Terra. At the same time she realizes that the school is full of dangerous secrets. Much like Coven Academy, Fate: The Winx Saga emphasizes group dynamics aimed at eliminating a common threat.
Wednesday
Wednesday Addams attends the Nevermore Academy in the hit series streaming on Netflix. Portrayed by Jenna Ortega, Wednesday ends up at Nevermore Academy following in her parents’ footsteps because this is her last chance. Yet it is precisely here that Wednesday can sharpen her psychic powers and hunt down monsters and cruel secrets that sow constant destruction. Within the school, a variety of magical creatures coexist—vampires, werewolves, mermaids, gorgons—and students wear school uniforms much like Coven Academy. The plot tracks a central mystery tied to the dark arts that must be solved under the guidance of a brilliant lead who cares little for the rules.
