More Horror, Italian-Style: Ferine Arrives in Theaters

It arrives in theaters on November 5, a horror film, a horror that has been showcased successfully at several prestigious international sector festivals: Sitges, Fantasia, Noir in Festival. This may not seem like a particularly unusual event, but it becomes so when we consider that the movie in question, entitled Ferine, is an Italian production.
It was written and directed by a filmmaker named Andrea Corsini, and produced by Francesco Grisi and Giorgia Priolo for EDI Effetti Digitali Italiani, in collaboration with Adler Entertainment and in association with FilmAffair and OMDT. It is presented as “an intense and moving story about the conflict between the rational part and the animal part of our nature, and about how trauma can bring forth the deepest shadows of the human soul”.
This is its official plot.

Irene (Carolyn Bracken), a wealthy and refined art collector, sees her life upended by a tragic event that awakens in her a primordial and uncontrollable instinct. A new nature takes over, destroying her privileged existence. Dama (Caroline Goodall), a mysterious dealer of exotic predators, is tracking one of her specimens that has escaped captivity when she discovers something unforeseen: Irene. In her, she recognizes a new, irresistibly dangerous predator. A dark fate binds the two women, dragging them toward an inevitable clash.

Here below you can view the official Ferine trailer, in which several enthusiastic “blurbs” from the international press who have already had the chance to see the film are also quoted. It should be noted that the film’s soundtrack is signed by a giant in the field, Pino Donaggio.
