Nobody Wants This: Showrunner Teases What to Expect for Season 4

Noah and Joanne have faced fresh challenges throughout the third season of Nobody Wants This, streaming on Netflix from October 22, 2026 with ten episodes that sparked numerous conversations. Both in love and eager to evolve even as a couple, Noah and Joanne made significant progress during the third season, but will there be a fourth? The creator Erin Foster has been the one to share more. Attention: what follows will reference events from the third season, so we advise continuing only if you’re up to date with the schedule.

Nobody Wants This 4 si farà? Cosa sappiamo sul rinnovo: gli indizi di Erin Foster

Netflix, to date, has not yet renewed Nobody Wants This for a fourth season, but fans are hopeful it will happen, especially after the hints dropped across the episodes and promptly picked up by the creator Erin Foster. At the start of the season, Noah and Joanne are trying to figure out how to make their cohabitation work, blending different habits and needs. In the meantime, Joanne has decided to proceed with the conversion to Judaism, and Noah, around mid-season, asked the girl to marry him.

The following episodes tracked the couple as they faced the wedding preparations that sent the family into a frenzy, with Bina’s ever more intrusive presence and even Joanne’s mother’s discontent at not being given as much consideration as the other. The season concluded with Noah’s impulsive choice: after Joanne’s official conversion, he wanted to marry on the beach in front of a single, unknown witness, far from the chaos of their families. A decision that will certainly have consequences in a hypothetical fourth season.

Erin Foster, indeed, told Parade that “there’s still a lot to tell” and that this story is far from over. “There are those next steps to take for people who aren’t in their twenties anymore, like getting married, where you feel you’re starting a bit late compared to everyone else. I lived that firsthand when I got married: I was 37, and it’s a different experience. So, yes, I believe there’s still a lot to tell. But I’m also someone who doesn’t cling too tightly to outcomes and prefers to be flexible, letting the market tell us what it wants from us. I would never want a series to go on longer than the audience wants to watch it. I’d rather leave people with the desire for more rather than bore them.” Naturally she wouldn’t say no to another season: “I think the fact that the audience has already enjoyed this season so much pushes me to want to tell more of their story. So I’m ready. I mean, I think it’s a special series, and it’s been an incredible experience for all of us. So, it’s hard to leave.”

I momenti clou del finale anticipano cosa potrebbe accadere nella stagione 4

The third season was rich with new developments for Joanne and Noah: cohabitation, the conversion, the engagement, and eventually even the wedding. Could the wedding have been reserved for the fourth season? Here is the showrunner’s response: “We treat each season as a finale that could work as a strong series or season finale. I believe any of the three seasons could conclude as a complete romantic comedy, but one can also think there’s still a lot to tell. So we want to end on a high note. We want to deliver a memorable moment for the finale.” But how will the relatives who are left out of such a pivotal moment react? The showrunner indeed admitted: “Not well. I don’t think Bina will be happy that her wedding, for which she has worked so hard, was taken away from her. I think she’ll take it very personally.”

An additional breaking element is the love triangle among Esther, Sasha and Morgan. At the start of the season, Sasha is back to being single, just as Esther tries to get back into dating by meeting a new partner. Sasha also tries to do the same, ultimately deepening her crush on Morgan. Yet among these three characters, things did not go as planned, and all that drama makes its way into season four: “I think it will force Sasha to examine the kinds of choices she makes, being someone who always strives to please others and who doesn’t have clearly defined boundaries. In the end she deeply hurt two people and, unintentionally, turned into a sort of philanderer who played these two women against each other, and I think she will really have to confront that. And then I think the fact that Esther is returning to something she knows she doesn’t truly want isn’t the most mature decision. As women, we’ve all done it at least once: you don’t want to be with someone, then you see them change for someone else and decide you want to go back, but usually that isn’t healthy. And then Morgan, I think, is still struggling and trying to figure out who she is. In season three she tries to show vulnerability. She opens up, bares her feelings, and is hurt and rejected. So it’s always interesting to see what a person does after something like that,” Foster revealed to Parade.
